Community Receiving Homes
Mission: Provide a temporary nurturing home for siblings experiencing the trauma of being taken into protective custody, providing DHS time to find an appropriate placement to keep them together.
An innovative concept, the Community Receiving Home for Children helps keep siblings together and gives DHS time to find the right foster care placement the first time.
During this past year, generous donor support made it possible to build and open a new, specially designed home, increasing capacity to eight children.
A highly successful model, the Receiving Home is playing an important role in helping Marion Child Welfare keep sibling children together.
