Healthy Start
Mission: A proven child abuse prevention program offering voluntary screening and information for first time parents; and support and parenting education through weekly home visits for at risk families.
In 2007, CCS completed a Healthy Families America site review of Healthy Start and was credentialed as an evidence-based HFA program site, joining a national registry of high quality child abuse prevention programs.
On-going monitoring of the program by an outside evaluation team continues to show that the program is not only preventing child abuse but supporting and improving the health, education and well-being of the whole family.
The Healthy Start program is strengthened through collaboration with our community partners, Willamette Education Service District which co-administers the program, and Family Building Blocks, providing services for high need customers.
